The brief
Stonewood Homes works on new and historic buildings in stunning natural settings with an emphasis on producing outstanding quality every time. The Priory brought a range of needs from the four bedroom mansion house right through to the smallest apartment.
The brief was for a neutral palette of products that would provide an elegant canvas for the classic interior scheme with a modern twist.
The bathrooms
For the 18 bathrooms we sourced and installed the Italgraniti Calacatta marble-effect porcelain with gold veining, book-matched in the mansion house so that the pattern lined up perfectly around the room. We paired this with Alnus Porcelain Versailles wood-look panel flooring and underfloor heating. Combined with fluted glass shower enclosures and brushed nickel & black brassware, these bathrooms have the wow factor but are also warm, inviting spaces.
The floors
The floors use a mix of Engineered Oak Mill-run timber laid in traditional plank format in the halls, while a stunning herringbone block layout in the kitchen and dining areas of the principal apartments marks out these zones by adding contrast. Further detail was incorporated in a Bluestone floor in the boot room of the main house, and Bluestone cobbles in the communal areas for the apartments.
Carpets in the bedrooms are Alternative Flooring’s Crafty Hound in Beagle with antique bronze trims - a sumptuous option, while communal staircases use a durable sisal.
Tile & Floor sourced, supplied and installed 1600 sqm of engineered oak, 800 sqm of porcelain tiling and 1000sqm of coir carpet across the group of properties. A range of Kerakoll grout and adhesive products were used which, as well as being green, are also very reliable.
